Dealing with the heat
Here’s the thing: 80W per centimeter getshot. Like, really hot. To keep the glass from warping or cracking under that kind of stress, we use high-purity fused quartz. It’s tough. But you still have to do your part. Double-check your cooling fans or water-jackets. If your airflow is lazy, the lamp will overheat.
