Technical Deep-Dive: Power, Voltage, and Dimensions
These lamps are built for the factory floor, not a workbench. We spec them at 400V as standard because it’s the practical choice for long cable runs. Less current means less voltage drop along the line, so the lamp stays steady even when it’s positioned 300mm away from the work. The 2500W rating is about intensity—packing enough punch to cure thick coatings quickly. But raw power is useless if you can’t steer it. Our drivers let you fine-tune the output, so you can match the light to the coating chemistry and the line speed. That’s how you avoid over-curing—and the heat buildup that comes with it.
Material & Design: Halogen, Quartz, and Connectors
Inside, we use a shortwave, halogen-based UV source, all housed in a quartz tube. Quartz is great because it transmits UV cleanly and can handle the thermal shock of rapid on/off cycles without cracking. And the halogen cycle keeps the filament stable, which means the output stays consistent over the life of the lamp. For mounting and wiring, we stick with R7s connectors. They give you a solid, two-contact connection that can take the vibration of a running conveyor. The footprint is compact, so you can drop the lamp into existing fixtures without reworking the reflector or housing.
Application & Benefits
On a wood coating line, you need a cure that’s fast, even, and easy to control. With precise power adjustment, you can match the lamp to the job. Thin lacquers need less intensity; thick fillers need more. And because we regulate power, you naturally limit excess infrared—so the substrate stays cool. Now, there is a trade-off. A 2500W lamp at 400V puts out serious heat density, so your machine’s cooling and airflow have to be properly sized. Get that right, and this setup becomes a drop-in workhorse—consistent cure, predictable energy use, and less downtime.
