
15 Years of Getting UV Lamps Right
Most people see a mercury UV lamp and just see a glass tube. But if you’ve ever worked with them, you know they’re more like precision tools. We’ve spent the last 15 years obsessing over the physics of mercury vapor and quartz purity. We started out making white-label gear for other companies, but we eventually realized we wanted to put our own name on the glass because we knew how to do it better.
The secret is in the stability
Here is the thing: if the gas pressure or the mercury dose is off by even a tiny fraction, the lamp will flicker or just die way too early. It’s a delicate balance. Depending on what you’re doing—whether it’s killing germs at 254nm or industrial curing—you need a very specific wavelength. We use high-purity synthetic quartz to stop “solarization.” That’s the annoying process where the tube turns brown over time and starts blocking the UV light. With our quartz, that doesn’t happen. You get a clean, consistent beam for much longer.
Dealing with the heat
High wattage equals high heat. Simple as that. When these lamps really start cranking, the quartz gets hot enough to stress the seals at the end-caps. To fix this, we use a specific pinch-off technique to keep air from leaking in. But you’ve got to do your part, too. Make sure your cooling fans or water jackets are actually doing their job. If the airflow is weak, the lamp overheats, the light spectrum shifts, and your electrodes wear out fast. It’s a trade-off. More power means your products cure faster, but it puts a lot more stress on your hardware.

We designed these to be easy. If you’re currently using the big-name international brands, our lamps should slide right in. The dimensions, the pins, the voltage—it’s all a match. You can wire them into your existing ballasts without having to move a single bracket or change your layout. Plus, we test every single batch for leakage current and spectral consistency. That way, you can just swap the bulb and get back to work without having to recalibrate your entire production line.
